Abstract: Culex pipiens has a significant public health importance since it transmits a wide range of human disease agents such as the West Nile virus and Rift valley fever virus. This study aimed to determine the insecticide resistance levels and alterations of resistance status of Cx. pipiens during two years 2019 and 2020 in the Black Sea region of Turkey. Bioassay results indicated that almost all of the populations were resistant to DDT and propoxur. Nearly half of the populations were resistant to malathion. Results showed almost whole populations were resistant or possibly resistant to deltamethrin while some of them were still susceptible to permethrin. Synergist assay demonstrated MFO and NSE, took a role in resistance. Biochemical analyses revealed that increased GST, MFO, and NSE levels. This findings may be valuable to resistance profiles of the Cx. pipiens populations and present informative data set which is needed during mosquito control efforts.
